Interview with Fabrice LEBON in CAPITAL magazine

Fabrice LEBON, chair of the LEBON group, was interviewed by CAPITAL, a monthly economics magazine. In a section on French success stories, the magazine wanted to feature an influential company in its sector.

LEBON GROUP, a leader in protective gloves

Founded in 1973, LEBON is a family group specialising in the manufacture of protective gloves for the industrial, construction and service sectors. With an annual turnover of 50 million euros, the intermediate-sized company, which employs 80 people in Europe and 900 on its production sites in India, is currently further developing its international presence.

Fabrice LEBON, chair of the eponymous group, explains.

What are the characteristics of the LEBON group?

Our unique skill and expertise in terms of personal protective equipment (PPE) makes us the French leader in technical gloves for the industrial sector. More than 18 million pairs of gloves are produced each year in our high tech factories which are equipped with state-of-the-art production tools.

In terms of CSR, the LEBON group designs sustainable products that are respectful of the environment with manufacturing processes based on local distribution channels, recycling and zero waste. I would add that being attentive and providing high-quality service are at the heart of our DNA. Our technical expertise is recognised on the market and enables our customers to work safely, knowing that they are well equipped and protected.

Safety at work is your priority…

For over 40 years we have made employee protection the focus of our skill and expertise. The company has made a huge effort over the recent years in terms of R&D in order to strengthen the reliability and performance of its equipment, all of which is certified and compliant with current European standards.

Logistics located on a strategic European crossroads…

Procurement is also a key priority for us. Located on a strategic European crossroads, our logistics base in Blandain, Belgium allows us to fulfil customer requirements in the shortest possible time. Moreover, we permanently store about 1000 product references and 7 million pairs of gloves there to ensure that we are able to deliver the right product at the right time.

A national leader with an international dimension…

Our branch network extends over 25 countries, primarily in Europe. This international dimension, which we still continue to develop, means that we have total cost control and production flexibility, which is of direct benefit to our customers.

The group has also set itself the goal of 10 to 15% annual growth over the next 5 years. We are calmly confident in achieving this goal, given the fast-growing market. Our extensive customer portfolio ensures that we are able to resist sector-based crises.
