Cold protection gloves

What is a cold protection glove?

Protective gloves are essential personal protective equipment to keep one of the most exposed parts of the body safe at work. Keeping your fingers warm in extreme cold conditions is vital. Whether working outside in sub-zero temperatures or handling in cold storage, a cold protection glove is the guarantee of complete and effective hand protection.

Like all protective gloves, the cold protection glove complies with the EN 420 standard or even EN  ISO 21420.

In addition, the EN 388 standard covers mechanical performance; depending on the task to be performed, this standard indicates the glove’s level of protection against the risks of cutting, abrasion, tearing or even puncturing. The EN 511 standard is specific to cold protection gloves and specifies 3 levels of tested resistance:

• Convective cold, for good thermal insulation.
• Contact cold, for a perfect resistance of the gloves in contact with a cold object.
• Waterproofness, for water and humidity resistance.

For the first two categories, the resistance level is rated from 0 to 4: the higher the number, the higher the performance.

Choosing a model of cold protective glove certified by European standards is easy thanks to a marking with a clear pictogram on the work glove.

Protect your hands from the cold with appropriate work gloves.

Choosing the right cold insulating work glove depends on several factors: the activity, the nature of the environment and the frequency of use. For a great comfort and optimization of the handler’s work, the anti-cold glove is a perfect protection to avoid the unpleasant sensation of frozen hands and the risks involved.

Cold protection gloves are a bulwark for hands in the winter when working in freezing temperatures on outdoor sites. They are also a very good insulator for handling objects in cold rooms, freezers or in humid environments. In factories, certain work areas where the temperature is close to 0 degrees require the use of cold protection gloves.

Wearing suitable cold protection work gloves means no more frozen and numb fingers! Working with your hands in extreme cold, even in polar climates, becomes a breeze.
