LEBON, 50 years of innovation

Since 1973, the LEBON Group has focused on innovation and Research & Development to create increasingly innovative protective equipment. This is how the ShockProtech, ActiveSense and GreenProtech® ranges came into being, as well as CleanPU® and BFR Technology.
These technologies are under constant development year after year, propelling LEBON to the cutting edge of innovation in the world of protective gloves.
Now, the aim is to continue innovating for customers while honouring all the commitments made towards sustainable development and environmental protection.

Innovation is an integral part of the product development process at LEBON. Our primary concern on a daily basis is to protect operators from the risks of workplace accidents. We also aim to develop efficient and innovative products that are suitable for every industrial sector.

“We want to control the manufacture of our products. First and foremost, we are manufacturers of industrial protective gloves. This is our very essence, our profession.” Fabrice, CEO

Our goal is to develop the products of tomorrow in a responsible and sustainable manner, based on the privileged relationship with our customers, maintained through the know-how acquired over many years of practice and research.  Our teams are constantly developing products to make the workplace safer. In fact, our main aim as a business is to enable customers to work with optimal protection, setting ourselves the daily challenge of achieving “zero accidents”.

Teams at the centre of projects

Although innovation is often linked to existing demand from the sales department, there are still product developments that result from team thinking. For instance, BodyProtech products stemmed from the idea to provide better protection for the operator. The cuffs are directly embedded into a T-shirt, making it lighter and more comfortable to wear. LEBON’s own innovations have also been applied to 18-gauge thin gloves. Hyperfit is one example of this, as the first 18-gauge F-level glove on the market. A pretty good achievement, don’t you think?

“Our teams are developing nicely; we have many different profiles, we get along very well and we share a healthy rivalry. The same goes for the factories; we get on very well with the teams because we share the same mindset and objectives and are moving in the right direction to innovate year after year.” Aurélien, Research and Development Manager

“The interaction between Worldwide Safety and Aurélien and his team is excellent. Communication between the three scientists and the Worldwide Safety production teams in the three factories is very clear and constructive. There’s no doubt that the experience and knowledge of the scientists helps us to innovate new products and produce better quality gloves.” Prashant, Production Site Manager

LEBON technologies at the cutting edge of innovation.

Clean PU®

In the early days of the Clean PU® project, there was a desire to create soaked gloves, but it was unthinkable to pollute waterways and the environment and do harm to our production staff’s health while producing polyurethane gloves. There was therefore a need to produce clean gloves and install a water treatment system. Through a process created and approved by the LEBON teams, which separates the water from the solvent, both materials were recovered and returned to the manufacturing cycle. The initial contract was then signed and approved: PU, gloves and a clean recovery system.

“We produce clean gloves cleanly, at the cutting edge of innovation and using the latest technology.” Fabrice, CEO

BFR TECHNOLOGY

Nitrile technology is water-based, but more complex to implement. A successful formulation was born through tireless work, endless processes and chemistry’s starring role. As with CleanPU® technology, it was imperative to produce gloves in the most environmentally friendly way possible. A wash water treatment system was therefore developed to ensure such water could be reused. This innovative system reduces water consumption.

The LEBON Group’s unwavering commitment to innovation and research & development has propelled the company to the pinnacle of industrial protection through close collaboration with its teams and a customer-focused approach. Our aim is to continue innovating while respecting commitments to sustainable development, an approach that demonstrates the company’s long-term vision. The LEBON Group continues to push back the boundaries of innovation for safer, more efficient work, embodying its commitment to “0 accidents” and the protection of workers.
